Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on July 19 that he would never accept the budget of the European Union (EU), which would send Hungarian money to Ukraine.

"I will never accept an EU budget that ruins Hungarian farmers. I will never accept the EU budget, which makes Hungary vulnerable to blackmail," the politician wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Orban also noted that he would not make a decision in which Hungary would receive resources only if it obeyed the "pro-military policy of Brussels."

On July 16, Orban called the people of Europe the biggest losers from the draft seven-year EU budget. According to him, citizens, including farmers, may find themselves in a very difficult situation. In addition, the Prime Minister stressed that the situation could lead to a decrease in support for both Hungarian and European farmers.
