The expert called Ukraine's proposal to test weapons on the front line PR
Ukraine's proposal to Western companies to test weapons on the line of contact looks like a PR announcement. This was stated on July 18 in an interview with Izvestia by Andrei Koshkin, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, military expert.
"This is most likely some kind of pretentious PR announcement related to a certain presence of mind in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That's what such statements are related to," the source said.
Koshkin stressed that testing weapons in conditions of active hostilities is a serious danger. According to him, no one would agree to such a thing.
"Some companies that have completed, say, laboratory tests and are to some extent willing to take risks in order to test developments in combat conditions, but again, one, two, three copies," Koshkin stressed.
The military expert concluded that there is no talk of a massive influx of high-tech and new weapons.
The Reuters news agency reported on July 17 that Ukraine had offered Western companies to use the line of contact to test weapons. They will be able to first conduct a brief online training on its use, and then wait for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to test it and send reports.
