The United States intends to strengthen its influence in Ukraine. Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov told Izvestia about this on July 17.

"The main motive for the United States is to strengthen its influence, because the British have more influence there now. Even under [former US President Joe] Biden, the US did not pay any attention to domestic policy issues, the British occupied this niche. They actually control part of the political elite there, their money is stored in Britain, so they have serious influence," he said.

According to him, Ukraine will count on a significant increase in support from the United States, but will receive only those resources for which funds were allocated back under Biden.

"They won't get a cent from Trump," he said.

Earlier, on July 16, the official representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, said that Trump was patiently determined to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, but not to the detriment of his own interests. According to her, the American leader remains committed to diplomacy.
