The prosecutor's office has requested 6.5 years for General Shesterov in the embezzlement case.

The state prosecution has requested 6.5 years in a general regime penal colony for the former deputy head of the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, in the case of embezzlement in Patriot Park. This was reported on July 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Odintsovo garrison military Court.

The prosecutor's office demands to find him guilty of fraud in the amount of 25 million rubles and forgery, as well as to recover 800 thousand rubles from him and deprive him of his military rank and state awards.

"Of course, I am very ashamed and bitter to realize that my military service ended in this way. I ask you to make a fair decision," Shesterov said during the meeting.

On the same day, it was reported that the Major General pleaded guilty to the crime, and also partially compensated for the damage caused to the Ministry of Defense and the Patriot Park.

Shesterov was detained in August 2024. According to the investigation, he was involved in the embezzlement of budget funds that were allocated to ensure the operation and functioning of the Patriot Park and the convention and exhibition center. On July 8, the Major General's criminal case was sent to court.
