Politico reported on Trump's intention to supply Ukraine with weapons worth $ 300 million.

US President Donald Trump is considering sending Ukraine a new military aid package worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on July 11, citing sources.

The publication noted that if the decision is made, it will be the first military aid to Kiev from the Trump administration.

"The discussions took place just over a week after the Pentagon stunned many in the White House by suddenly suspending part of an existing aid package consisting of thousands of artillery shells and precision-guided munitions. Trump has stated that aid will be resumed," the publication says.

According to Politico, the aid in question may be allocated from a fund approved by Congress under former President of the United States Joe Biden. This mechanism allows Ukraine to transfer weapons from the reserves of the American army. About $3.8 billion remains in this fund, the newspaper added.

Sources note that such a decision by Trump will highlight internal disagreements in his administration on the issue of support for Kiev. The US Department of Defense explained the recent pause in supplies with concern about the state of national ammunition depots. However, some officials felt that the amount of aid to Ukraine was too small to affect the total weapons stocks.

Shipments suspended this month included 30 Patriot missiles and hundreds of precision-guided munitions. About 8,000 155 mm shells and 250 GMLRS missiles have already begun to arrive in Ukraine, but the timing of the transfer of Patriot is still unknown.
