The number of victims of the shelling of a humanitarian aid distribution point in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has increased to 27 people. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 3.

"At least 27 Palestinians were killed near an aid distribution point in the Gaza Strip," the article says.

Representatives of the IDF say that the army opened fire on a group of people who had left the designated access routes for humanitarian aid near the distribution center in Rafah.

It is reported that the strike occurred after Israel announced the death of three of its soldiers in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip.

The day before, Al Jazeera TV channel reported that three Palestinians were killed and 35 were injured as a result of Israeli military shelling of a humanitarian aid distribution center in the city of Rafah. It was clarified that at the moment there are four such points in Gaza that provide assistance to local residents.

Prior to that, as a result of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, more than 500 Palestinians were injured and more than 50 were killed during the day. It was reported that a total of 54,470 people have died since the beginning of the armed conflict, and another 124 thousand have been injured.
