At the end of 2024, budget investments in the Russian electronics industry should exceed the 2020 figure by 15 times. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the plenary session of the Microelectronics-2024 forum at the federal territory of Sirius on September 23.

"If in 2020 budget investments did not exceed 10 billion rubles in the industry, at the end of this year they should surpass this figure, colleagues, attention, almost 15 times," - said the head of the government.

He said that over four years, the Russian budget has allocated more than 430 billion rubles for the development of this industry.

In addition, according to Mishustin, the government will soon consider the extension of preferential rates of income tax and reduced rates of insurance contributions for organizations working in the field of radio electronics. In addition, the possibility of extending such benefits to electronic engineering enterprises, including those producing materials and substances for the manufacture of microelectronics, is being studied.

The head of the government added that in the coming years Russia should create a reliable foundation for a technologically sovereign electronics industry. It should be based on domestic developments, it is necessary to form all the necessary competencies. Mishustin emphasized that electronics in Russia is now turning into an innovative basis for scientific, technological and economic progress of the Russian Federation in the long term.

Earlier, on July 1, research by the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting (CMACP) was published, which showed that the electronics industry in Russia has improved its financial situation after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, because demand for its products has increased. This was particularly true for electrical machinery, computers and other electronic products.

Experts from retail companies told Izvestia on May 6 that demand for consumer electronics, such as routers, smart home products, car electrical equipment and portable appliances, increased in Russia in the spring.
