Writer Dmitry Glukhovsky (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent) has been receiving funding from foreign organizations since 2021, which was one of the reasons for his inclusion in the register of foreign agents. This follows from the court's decision on the lawsuit of the writer to the Ministry of Justice with a demand to exclude him from the list of foreign agents, the document was read by "Izvestia" on September 23.
"According to Rosfinmonitoring, Glukhovsky in the period from February 2022 to March 2022 received 14,996.2 thousand rubles from ING Belgium SA/NV (Belgium). In addition, in January 2022, he received Br85,690.7 thousand from Koch Media GmbH (Germany). In addition, in December 2021, in one transaction he received RUB 6,373.9 thousand from Joel Gotler+ Associates INC (Austria). Also in the period from October 2021 to February 2022 received Br28,572.8 thousand from Nibbe Bettina Barbara (Germany)," reads the text of the ruling.
The court also noted that this is not the only basis for the decision. Numerous interviews of Glukhovsky to media-foreign agents, as well as their reposts in the writer's social networks became another reason to add the writer to the list of foreign agents.
Earlier, on September 19, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation did not consider the complaint of writer Dmitry Glukhovsky. The subject of the claim was to recognize illegal and cancel the decision to include in the register of foreign media, performing the functions of a foreign agent in the interests of the writer.
On August 7, Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced Glukhovsky in absentia to eight years in prison for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. During the debate of the parties, the prosecution asked to sentence the writer to nine years in prison. Glukhovsky was also banned from administering Internet resources for four years.
According to the prosecution, in 2023, while abroad, the writer published in his social networks posts containing false facts about the participation of the Russian military in the crimes committed during the special operation.
The Prosecutor General's Office sent Glukhovsky's case to court in February this year. Before that, on October 7, 2022, the Ministry of Justice recognized the writer as a media-non-agent.
Glukhovsky's arrest in absentia became known on June 7, 2022.
