In the Kursk region, fighters of the Akhmat special forces shot down a reconnaissance drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a €80,000 camera. This was reported on Sunday, September 22, by the commander of the group with the call sign Haid.

The serviceman specified that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was shot down with an FPV drone near the locality of Martynivka. He also said that this drone model is called "Leleka-100" and is made of plywood, which makes it quite light.

Of the main advantages of the drone, the serviceman emphasized the presence of a camera.

"The camera is Swiss, costs €80 thousand, <...> it increases x500," - said the serviceman, whose words are quoted by "RIA Novosti".

The group commander noted that the enemy uses the tactics of air hunters. Thus, the confrontation takes place not only on the ground, but also in the air

"In response, we started hunting their drones," the Russian fighter concluded.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry said that the AFU lost over 16,000 troops, 126 tanks, 57 infantry fighting vehicles, 95 armored personnel carriers, 795 armored fighting vehicles, 492 vehicles, 124 artillery pieces, 29 multiple rocket launchers, including eight HIMARS and six US-made MLRS, during the total time of fighting in the Kursk direction.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The operation to destroy the enemy is ongoing. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
