Russia's army hit Ukrainian energy facilities and military airfields

The Russian Armed Forces have launched strikes on military airfields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and hit energy facilities that support the work of its military-industrial complex (MIC). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on September 22.

"Operational-tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed the radar station for detection and tracking of low-altitude targets 36D6, and also hit the energy facilities that provided the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, the infrastructure of military airfields," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, units of the Southern Group of Forces occupied more favorable lines and inflicted defeats on the formations of 13 AFU brigades in the vicinity of Raigorodok, Druzhkovka, Chasov Yar, Predtechino, Belaya Gora, Zaliznyanskoye, Mykolayivka, Konstantinopol, Kurakhovo and Konstantinovka settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

The AFU lost there up to 560 military personnel, 20 vehicles, two armored combat vehicles, a Swedish-made Archer 155mm self-propelled artillery unit, a British-made FH-70 155mm howitzer, four US-made M777 155mm howitzers and a 152mm Msta-B howitzer. Two warehouses with shells were also destroyed.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the combat work of drone calculations of the group of troops "South", which attacked the shelter of the AFU military in the Donetsk direction. The drone was equipped with an explosive device, it conducted reconnaissance and, having detected the target, made a precise strike on the Ukrainian soldiers' hideout.

At the same time, the Ministry reported that the calculation of self-propelled mortars 2S4 "Tulpan" self-propelled mortars of the group of troops "West" destroyed fortified positions of the Ukrainian army in the DNR. The mortars were given a safe route to the position by drone operators, while air defense equipment provided air cover. The Tulpan rounds were fired every three minutes. Having successfully hit all targets, the mortars promptly left the firing position.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
