Before the start of combat missions, the crews of Terminator tank support vehicles (TSTVs) of the Center group of troops undergo combat training at ranges in rear areas. On September 21, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the Russian military training.

Soldiers with combat experience are also practicing skills in their free time, improving their tactics and practicing new techniques. During the training, the soldiers focus on speed driving and direct fire exercises, as well as coordination with tank crews.

Upon completion of the alignment, crews of BMPT "Terminator" and T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks will leave to carry out combat missions in the Avdiivka direction.

"The vehicle is unique, it is the main vehicle for tank support. <...> [I have been] working on this vehicle since November last year, the vehicle has shown itself very well. The armor is very strong, the turret is uninhabited: the entire crew - five people - is inside. The only difference between the BMPT and the tank is that the crew is larger, with two grenade launchers added. The combat vehicle works well both with infantry, helping to break through defenses, occupying wooded areas, and with tanks, covering them, working on lightly armored targets at a distance of up to 2,000 meters, on heavy equipment - up to 6,000 meters," said the commander of the Terminator BMPT with the call sign Kupol.

"Terminator" is a multi-purpose highly protected combat tracked fire support vehicle, which is equipped with two 30-millimeter 2A42 cannons, 7.62-millimeter PKTM machine gun, four laser-guided anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and two AGS-17 grenade launchers, thanks to which the vehicle crew is able to attack up to four targets simultaneously.

The BMPT is capable of engaging lightly armored targets, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), as well as striking helicopters and aircraft flying at low altitudes and speeds on a par with air defense units.

On the previous day, the Defense Ministry reported that mechanics of the repair unit of the Center group of troops had restored a German-made trophy Marder infantry fighting vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), which had been evacuated from the Avdiivka area.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region.
